Finding the Right Product
So, how did I kick off this challenge? First, I needed to find the right product. I wanted to show you that you don’t need to spend a single dollar on advertising, so I decided to take the organic route. Here’s what I was looking for:
- Value-Adding: The product should solve a problem or add value to someone’s life. For example, think about how a good kitchen gadget can save time and make cooking easier.
- Wow Factor: It needs to have something that grabs attention and can be easily shown in a video ad.
- Affordability: The product should be relatively inexpensive and appeal to a broad audience.
To start, I set up a burner TikTok account and began scrolling through my feed. Every time I saw a drop shipping product, I’d do a ghost purchase — going through the checkout process without actually paying. This way, TikTok would categorize me as a buyer and serve me more products.
Product Discovery
After some scrolling, I found a couple of promising products. One was a grip strengthener that was going viral, and the other was a push-up board. I decided to go with the push-up grip because it had more creative marketing angles. Plus, I could easily film engaging content around it.
I found the product on AliExpress for about $22, and I figured I could sell it for $35 to $50. But first, I needed to create some killer video ads.
Facing Challenges
Things took a turn when I realized I was in Turkey and couldn’t get the product in time to film my own ads. But I wasn’t about to let that stop me! I reached out to a friend who’s great at content creation and asked if he could help me film some videos.

While my friend was working on the videos, I needed to build the store. I used a free AI store builder, which allowed me to set up a solid base quickly. I added the content my friend sent over, tweaked the copy, and made sure everything was optimized for conversions.
After a couple of days, the website was ready, and I was excited to start driving traffic to it.
The Results
Fast forward to the end of the challenge, and I’m thrilled to share the results. In just 7 days, I made a total of $2,759 in sales! Here’s a breakdown of how it went:

By the end of the week, I had 76 total orders and a profit of $1,771. Not too shabby for a week of work without spending a dime on ads!
